Fusion: Happy Birthday Friend

It's time for another challenge at Fusion!  Don't you love all the fabulous primary colors in the inspiration photo and the fun chevrons?    I loved both the sketch and the inspiration photo so took a cue from both of them on making my card below.  I'm making a conscious effort to try and use some of my stamps that haven't seen much ink. Both the PTI sets used on this card fall into that category! I rarely make square cards, but the sketch was shouting for a square card!  How about you? What inspires you?

1. Play with just the sketch challenge.
2. Play with just the inspiration photo challenge.
3. Or you can create FUSION by combining BOTH challenges into one card.
4. Use the challenge graphic and link back to Fusion in your post.
5. Please read the other considerations on the Our Rules Page before playing along.

Be sure to pop on over to Fusion and check out the fabulous cards by our design team!

WinnersWill be chosen by all of our teammates in two weeks! We each will choose one favourite! The winners will be announced at 4am (PST) in two weeks!! Please check the linky for the days left to play with us!

Time Out: CASing Virginia!

Wow!  Time is certainly flying!  We're on our fourth challenge at Time Out and this week our challenge is to CASE the fabulous Virginia Lu.  Virginia is amazingly talented, but more importantly is one of the kindest bloggers in blogland.  Her love of life and her family is very clear.  She has so many talents from creating cards to be an amazing cook. She quite simply is a gem.  So...I was thrilled to have the opportunity to CASE her for this challenge. I mean heck out her gorgeous card above! Wow!  Her use of color and the perfect extra elements is always spot on.

For my card, you can see I followed her layout and the use of florals.  I also tried to pick up the texture of the thread in her cards by using burlap for a bit of texture.

I am sure you'll be inspired by Virginia's sure to take some time out to play with us at Time Out!

Fabulous Birthday {and Mangan Family Easter}

We are really lucky that the majority of our family is in town and that the two out of town families aren't more than about six hours away. Everyone was in town this weekend to celebrate Easter.  Friday night we spent over Pat's parents with a casual dinner and Saturday afternoon we were at Pat's brother and sister-in-law's house for the annual Easter egg hunt before heading over to my brother's 50th birthday party.  It was another beautiful day and you can tell the cousins all enjoyed each other by the smiles on their faces.  and the picture in the middle 16 year old son is holding a beer, but that was Pat's...goof balls...

They also had fun climbing up the tree...PS look closely at Collin's hair.   He had a little hiatus from the hair gel, but it's back :)!
My card today is for Lisa's fabulous Wanna, love, love her sketches!

Wishing You a Happy Birthday {and Easter pics!}

Happy Tuesday, I'm back with a card for the CASE this Sketch and Runway Inspired combined challenge.  I love playing along with both of these cool that they are hosting a combo challenge.

I'll have more Easter pictures to share tomorrow I'm popping in to share pictures from my brunch at my mum's house.  It was beautiful and we all enjoyed being outside after we had a fabulous brunch.

Here's my whole gang...thanks to my sister-in-law Cindy for snapping this picture.  You can see how fast everyone is growing.  One quick picture and we were all smiling and had our eyes open.  It looks like Ryan is taller than Pat in this one, but he's not...must be the angle of the photo.

Here's the whole family on my mum's back deck. Thankful for my mum's neighbor who popped over to take this.  Super thankful that Pat's parents were at brunch too and in the picture.  Very thankful that everyone is healthy after Pat's dad's quadruple bypass this past September.

And here's a few pictures showing how much everyone enjoyed the absolutely perfect day.

Thanks So Much {and Marcel pitching/family selfies!}

 Happy Monday friends. We had the most beautiful Easter weekend. The weather was perfect and we had a wonderful time with family all weekend long.  I'll be back tomorrow with Easter pictures, but today I wanted to share pictures from Marcel's baseball game.  He pitched for the first time on Saturday.  He was so excited.  He's been practicing with Pat a ton and to say he was thrilled when his coach told him he could pitch the last inning was an understatement!  He struck out two, walked one and the other two were outs on
And here he is batting.  He made it to base each time...two hits and two walks.  Could he look any cuter in his uniform?  I've loved watching all my boys play baseball.  Hard to believe he's our last one!
We also were having fun this weekend taking selfies!  Ryan and his two oldest cousins, Madeleine and Elizabeth are always goofing around taking them. This weekend we got the entire family in on them.  Thought these would make you smile...we certainly did!
Marcel's in this picture, but he got lost!
 Outside Neal and Cindy's house...celebrating Neal's 50th.

Jonathon's photo bombing and Madeleine doing I'm not sure what!
And one non-selfie of me with my mum and two older brothers celebrating Neal's 50th!  We didn't plan to match!

PS My card for today is for the current Viva La Verve sketch. I got inky yesterday and have four cards to share all using Verve Stamps this week.  Love their stamps!

Miss You

Look at all those fun banners on this week's PaperSmooches Sparks inspiration?  I never feel like I make good banners, but decided to give it a run for this week's challenge.  I picked up my inspiration from the sweet little floral banners in the bottom of the picture.  I decided to stamp on vellum to make my banners.  You all know how much I love any PS floral set, so I had to use that as my inspiration!

Happy Friday friends...and remember this important saying...hope you a little party to start off your weekend!

Time Out Reminder: Who's Turning Fifty?

I mentioned earlier this week that we'll be celebrating my brother Neal's 50th birthday on Saturday.  Hard to believe he's 50...he certainly doesn't look 50!  This card is a reminder for the current Time Out Challenge to make a birthday card with an optional twist of making a masculine birthday card. The perfect challenge for me to make Neal's card!  The current Retro Sketches challenge is an awesome challenge to use up some of your patterned paper.   I love the sketch and always struggle with where to play my enamel elements so the sketch already having them placed definitely helped me out!

And here's a good little lesson for us all!
